Tianshui City is located in the northwest of hill-gully loess plateau. In this area, it has sufficient sunlight, moderate rainfall, effective accumulative temperature and high temperature gap between day and night. It belongs to the warm temperate zone which is half dry and half wet.

In the whole city, there is one base with about 800, 000 mu growing Huaniu Apple, and the annual output is 1, 600, 000 tons; there is one base with about 4500, 000 mu growing Fuji apples, and the annual output is 900, 000 tons; there is another base with about 250, 000 mu growing Golden Marshall apples, and the annual output is 500, 000 tons now.
